Stagdale Part 3, drawn and written by Clay Pipe Music founder Frances Castle, continues the story of Kathy and Max - two strangers, a generation apart, who both unexpectedly find themselves living in the isolated village of Stagdale.
When twelve-year-old Kathy discovers a wartime diary hidden behind the skirting board of the old cottage she and her mother are renting, she is instantly captivated. As she delves into its pages, she begins to suspect that the tale of the missing Stag Jewel - told to her by her new friend Joe - isn't quite what it seems. Could the diary hold the key to unravelling a mystery that's been buried for 30 years?
"Art in this beautiful style is transportive in itself, every page a gentle pull to the titular village at its heart."

" There’s an almost palpable sense of place to Stagdale, with its entangled history and reticent locals. It feels like an authentic location, and Castle’s establishing shots of the titular town often made me nostalgic for childhood holidays." Shelf Abuse
"Castle’s illustrations are a treat for the eyes and it’s the beautifully crafted details that evoke a time long gone by, but they are still modern and prescient". Karl Foster
